The Scorpion is the weakest of the ranged siege weapons, but it has a nice twist: it fires a bolt that travels in a horizontal line along its full range or until it hits a building, damaging any units in its way. Although it lacks the ability to damage large groups of units like onagers or artillery, it is fairly inexpensive and provides a decent amount of firepower. The Scorpion upgrades to the Heavy Scorpion.

Unit Strategy[]
Although not a substitute for more powerful siege equipment, scorpions provide a nice defensive backbone and are very good in chokepoints (with adequate guard, of course). They also excel at firing into melees, since they do not damage your own troops.
