The Militia Lancer is the default scout unit for Denmark and Helvetia. It is the first unit to be available in the Militia Lancer Line, which will also be the only scout line available to these civs. The Militia Lancer is also the weakest mounted unit of the anticavalry unit group. It can be upgraded to the Ordonnance Lancer.
The Militia Lancer will be available later than the Pathfinder and may not have the high speed and LOS of other scouts, but it therefore profits from more bonuses, including an anti-cavalry attack bonus giving this unit a combat advantage over other scout units. Militia Lancers are available to all civs that lack the Lancer (except Bohemia and Scotland, which get neither standard unit).
