The Crossbowman is the first upgrade of the archer line and also the first crossbow-unit available in AoCH. It is by far stronger and comes with more range than a standard Archer, but is more expensive and takes longer to reload. It can be trained in the 13th century at the Archery Guild. In the 14th century, it can be made cheaper with the introduction of Crossbow Companies and can also be further upgraded to the Arbalester.
